Sports X are delighted to be working with our partner, Arena Racing Company, who are looking to hire a Hotel and Events Marketing Manager to oversee and manage the marketing activity and play a key role in the progression of the YourVenue business.
The H&E Marketing Manager will assist the Group Head of Marketing to devise and implement the group marketing strategy and work closely with racecourse leadership, hotel sales managers and the YourVenue sales team to execute the annual marketing plan, designed to drive non-racing commercial lines (Meetings & Events) at hotel, racecourse and stadia level.
Key responsibilities for the role will include:
In conjunction with the wider marketing team, racecourse leadership and the Yourvenue sales team, the role will take full ownership of all marketing activity relating to hotel and non-racing income.
Build and establish the YourVenue brand ensuring the YourVenue website is kept relevant and up to date.
Work alongside the YourVenue team and graphic designers to produce, organise and distribute collateral to support the marketing and sales activity, ensuring it is on-brand, eye catching and relevant to the target market.
Work with the CRM manager to establish segmentation and targeting for YourVenue customers.
Work with the wider marketing team to plan and execute a comms strategy that will raise the profile of the YourVenue brand through social, email and digital channels ultimately driving enquiries and leads for the sales team.
Through the effective use of data and via the marketing team, play an active role alongside venue management and YourVenue team in the design of packages, pricing, offers and product to best fit market need and create opportunity.
Negotiate and manage relationships with 3rd party partners (such as venue listing websites) to ensure maximum exposure for our venues within the agreed budget, whilst ensuring listings are kept relevant and up to date.
Liaise with Marriott, IHG and Holiday Inn (franchise hotel partners) adhering to their brand guidelines where necessary. Completing all relevant marketing campaigns and use of associated systems.
Introduce, implement and evaluate innovative marketing and promotional activities designed to increase Hotel revenue lines – golf, spa, F&B, M&E and bedrooms.
Work in conjunction with the hotel sales managers to manage and develop the hotel branded websites through the brand ecommerce managers, email campaigns and presence on social media outlets, utilising the franchise brand partner portals and initiatives.
Develop a framework of customer feedback analysis and event reports; reviewing trends and correlations to build and exceed customer expectations through data driven decisions.
Provide support, insight and plans for agencies and 3rd party events to ensure they receive maximum ROI to establish long term partnerships.
Carry out and monitor a competitor analysis to review changing trends, pricing, products etc

Educated to degree level
A background in venue marketing, specifically hotels, conference and events.
Experience in B2B and B2C marketing
Management and planning of resources.
Customer acquisition experience, with a focus on digital.
Highly developed written and verbal skills, ability to influence across the business at senior level.
Prioritisation and organisational skills, working to deadlines.
A positive self-starter with a can-do attitude.
Creative and willing to test, analyse and refine new ideas
